The Fox Glacier is New Zealand’s largest commercially guided glacier, situated in Glacier Country, on the West Coast of the South Island.
We opted to go on a heli-hike as this gives you the opportunity to get much further up the glacier to the crisp blue and white ice, it also means you get to cruise around in a helicopter which is always awesome.
We were really lucky to get good weather for our flight up the glacier. We were also lucky enough to find an ice tunnel large enough to crawl through.
Really blown away by our hike on the Fox Glacier, the ice is amazing, dirty on the surface and amazingly blue in the middle.
