From Tena an hour by car and a short walk bought us to our Jungle Home Stay location in the Amazon Jungle.
We would be here for 2 nights with our host family. Our accommodation was basic, no electricity or hot water and a little bit more exposed to the jungle than our stay in Tena….. but it was a great place to stay.
Our hosts were excellent, we learnt all about the Quechua Peoples traditions, walked the forest looking for medicinal plants and learning about shaman and what is required to become one. We also made our own chocolate direct from the coca pod and saw a whole bunch of giant insects…. cockroaches, crickets, moths and spiders.
