To get from Emeishan to Chengdu we hired a private car to take us and our luggage via the Leshan Giant Buddha.
We decided to view from the river on a 30 minute boat ride rather than get right up close and climb the stairs carved into the cliff-face. The stairs would have been great but we were still aching too much from hiking down Mount Emei and it can take over 2 hours to walk due to the very slow pace that people move on the stairs and we did not have time for that.
The Buddha is carved into the cliffs where 3 rivers join together and the water flows extremely fast. The Buddha is about 76 meters tall and to give an idea on of his fingernails is about average adult height… a pretty cool thing to see.
