Palenque is a Maya archaeological site dating from 226BC. It has some of the finest examples of architecture, sculpture and carvings that the Maya produced.

We hired a guide to take us around the main site before heading of to walk in the jungle by ourselves. The tour was great, we got a lot of good information from our guide.

We got to walk into some of the tombs here, which we have not been able to do before and see really good examples of how the Maya controlled water with aqueducts, and toilets.
