Weekly Update

MONDAY

Morning spent exploring Perth City’s shops before making our way to our accommodation for the rest of the week. We were staying in Bernd’s (some bloke Eva found on the internet) pool house. This was in fact both random and good

In the evening headed out to have dinner with Sophie and Malc. They offered us the key to their beach house for the following night so we jumped at the chance.

TUESDAY

Morning spent driving down south to the beach house in Busselton. Once we arrived we cooked a BBQ lunch and then headed for the beach.

Another BBQ for dinner before watching trashy 80’s movies and falling asleep

WEDNESDAY

Headed a little further south to Yellingup beach, So far the best we have been to. Love being able to walk to the reef from the beach and the sea is an amazing blue colour. We also got to see humpback whales splashing around on the horizon… sweet

After getting attacked by a snake in Meelup we had lunch in the WISE Winery before heading back to Perth

THURSDAY

Day trip to Rottnest Island. Once on the island we picked up our hire bikes and proceeded to make a lap of the island stopping off at different beaches on the way round for a swim. The weather was way too hot for cycling so it’s a good job the sea was nice and cold to cool us down

FRIDAY

Day spent in Fremantle taking in shops, markets and cafes. In the Afternoon we met up with Mel from our south American trip at the Little Creatures brewery. It was great to catch up and find out what happened after we left the tour in Santiago.

Spent the evening having an awesome Mexican dinner with Sophie and Malc

SATURDAY

Checked out and headed for the airport… next stop Alice Springs

SUNDAY

Outback Adventure Day 1 – Leaving Alice Springs for the 5 hour bus ride to our camp site inside ULURU Resort.

After a short trip to take pictures of sunset we head back to camp to have our first attempt at sleeping in a swag (essentially a bag you put your sleeping bag in – so your head is out the end looking at the stars) neither of us slept well, too scared about all the wildlife that might attack us in our sleep… lol
